Απ: PES2009

Hands-on from PESfan:

As you will know, TheBoss was invited by Konami to travel to their headquarters yesterday for an exclusive playtest of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009. As TheBoss had to sign NDAs before playing the game, we can't say what new game modes are in the game and things like that (yet), but we can tell you some little bits before next Wednesday when everything will go crazy in PES world.

The version played was 10 days old and the game is roughly 70% complete, so it's at a similar development stage as this time last year. The demo that will be on show at Leipzig will be from a different build of the game but it shouldn't differ drastically from this version apart from features removed for public display (licensing issues etc).
TheBoss played PES 09 on the PS3, which shows Konami were confident enough to show it off on the console that received the most amount of criticism last year for it's slowdown and jerky framerate. No mention of any slowdown this time around.

So, you want to know his initial impressions?

Impressed.
It felt like Konami have forgotten about the last few efforts and gone back to making a good football game. Even at 70% complete it's showing many improvements over the last version of the game.

And online mode wasn't tested before anybody asks about lag

Ακούγονται ωραία τούτα που λέει η ΚΟΝΑΜΙ, το αποτέλεσμα θα είναι έτσι όμως, θα μπορέσει το PES2009 να ανταγωνιστεί το FIFA09;
Η άποψη μου ξέρετε ποια είναι, πιστεύω ότι το FIFA θα κρατήσει τα σκήπτρα που έχει αποκτήσει από πέρσι, αυτό που μένει να δούμε είναι αν η σειρά PRO EVOLUTION καταφέρει να μπει στο σωστό δρόμο που είναι η εξομοίωση του ποδοσφαίρου, κάτι το οποίο έχει χαθεί τα τελευταία 3 με 4 χρόνια...

Έτσι για να χαροροποιήσουμε τους φίλους που θα παίζουν PES2009 φέτος, πολύ πιθανόν να προστεθεί η Ανόρθωση στο φετινό παιχνίδι για το λόγο ότι η ΚΟΝΑΜΙ έχει αγοράσει τα δικαιώματα του champions league και θα υπάρχει σαν ξεχωριστό mode στο παιχνίδι. 90% η ομάδα θα είναι με το κανονικό της όνομα και full roster...

I saw Level magazine; which is a reliable mag (personally); they have huge review of the game, 8-9 pages. They elaborated game modes, played lots of matches and wrote a review (not a preview) of press copy. They were extremely pleased about the game. The review score is %97; they do not think that they will change their mind on score, when they get the final release. Editor of mag is the reliable guy; who has been my main source since PES 2. He told me that he has been totally satisfied about gameplay, graphics, animations etc. His motto in his email to me was (something like) Return of the King. In a while; mag had reviewed PES 2008 with a score 6.7 or 7.0 out of 10. As they expressed all the cons of PES 2008 have been trimmed out; and finally we got the beauty of PES. They mentioned about improved ball physics, AI, slowed down game speed, flexible animations. They called PES 2008 as a pinball soccer and 2009 as a real one.

Konami have apparently pulled the demo that was expected to be released to Xbox Live Marketplace and on PSN tomorrow. However, we understand that the big news of the day will be the Official reveal of the Champions League Licence.

It remains to be seen whether this will or will not be the case, as we found out last year, there was so much messing about over the demo that no-one seemed to know what others were doing. Don't dismiss seeing an Xbox 360 demo tomorrow as happened last year, when the demo aired a week or so early, and the statement from Konami UK mentions an announcement will be made in conjunction with Sony, that wouldn't be anything to do with the Xbox Demo.

So cross your fingers and hope it's just a case of one office not knowing what another are doing!!

Meanwhile, expect news of the Champions League Licence to be officially released, including screenshots and as we understand it, possible a new video!

Δεύτερον: Είχαμε review πρώτο από ισπανικό περιοδικό:Spanish magazine Hobby Consolas is the first publication in the world to give an official verdict on PES 2009!Now obviously its all in Spanish, but its safe to say the ʽ92′ at the bottom of the last page is easily translatible!

Ρε τους κουλούς, έδωσαν 92% στην απάτη όπως λέτε χωρίς να το έχετε καν παίξει! Πρέπει να είναι βλάκες και αυτοί μάλλον...

- Players change facial expression when they lose the ball, they scream

Δυνατό ξεκίνημα για πρώτο review πάντως, δεν νομίζετε. Προβλέπω εκπλήξεις!

Τρίτον, βγήκαν 2 καινούρια βίντεο. Το ένα δείχνει τα μενού και το champions league, και το άλλο gameplay από Man. UTD-Real Madrid. Μάλιστα τονίζουν ότι αυτή η έκδοση είναι 85% και όχι τελειωμένη!

*το συγκεκριμένο review δεν μπορώ να φανταστώ πόσο πολλά biased είναι , αλλά οκ, τα ευχάριστα πάντως για τους κολλημένους Pesakides είναι ότι θα είναι η Ανόρθωση μέσα στο παιχνίδι...
